A little about the Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet:
The Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet (SBRF) is one of three remaining NDRF anchorages, the others being in Texas and Virginia. The SBRF opened shortly after the end of WWII with a fleet of 125 ships. In 1952 it reached over 340, however it has been steadily decreasing ever since.
Today, little of the once grand fleet remains. By February 2017, the fleet will be no more.
To locals it's known as the Ghost Fleet or the Mothball Fleet.
The purpose of this site to document the rich history of the ships that were stored here and their future, most likely to the scrapper.
